HOW TO ARRIVE AT KASTALIA
BY PLANE
From the international airport of Catania, by rented car or taxi, a distance of 120km, about 90 minutes' travel. Direct flights to and from the most important National and European airports, with many options daily.
BY TRAIN
From the railway station of Catania, by rented car or taxi, 120km distant, about 90 minutes' travel. Direct carriages or wagon-lit trains from and to Turin, Milan, Venice and Rome.
BY CAR
Motorway (autostrada del sole) up to Villa S. Giovanni. Ferry to Messina. Highway (A18) to Catania (last exit); drive along the Tangenziale road (bypass) following signs for Ragusa and Siracusa. SS. 115 road to Siracusa till Km 118. On the right hand side, follow the highway 194 to Ragusa, and drive some 77km, up to the "Ragusa Ovest" exit. Go for 300m towards Comiso (not ragusa). Take, on the left hand side, the provincial road to Scoglitti and Kastalia. Follow tourist signs "Kastalia".
TRAIN + CAR
Direct trains with the car from Turin, Bologna and Rome to Catania.
BOAT + CAR
Car transport service from Genova, Livorno and Napoli to Palermo. From Palermo to Kastalia drive for some 230km. Follow motorway A19, for 114km, until the exit to Caltanissetta. After 2km take highway to Mazzarino/Giudecca and Gela, about 75km. Take the Provincial road to Scoglitti and Kastalia, about 40km. Follow tourist signs "Kastalia".
BUS
Regular bus service from Rome (Esedra Square) to Ragusa at Piazza Stazione (Station Square), in about 12 hours; and from Palermo - Piazza Marina (Marina Square) to Ragusa at Piazza Stazione, in about 4 hours. From Ragusa to Kastalia, about 26km.
